Packing for a long weekend

Packing all your essential items and clothes for a long weekend can be a tricky task, most people want to travel light as your only going away for a few days but it can be a huge struggle to pack everything you need without forgetting anything and making sure you don’t go overboard.

Firstly, you should always call ahead and check what items are provided at the hotel you are staying at. Most provide the basics such as towels, irons, robes, and hairdryers so we always advise you call ahead first. This could free up some much-needed space in your suitcase.

Secondly, check the weather forecast. there is absolutely no need to pack your favourite knitted jumper if you will have glorious sunshine for the duration of your trip. With some weather being unpredictable especially in the UK we understand you may want to pack extra clothes just in case so you could always pack a lightweight jacket just in case.

And lastly, organise your items. Vacuum pack your clothes for extra space and only take essential toiletries if you need them but most hotels should provide the basics.

Postponing your wedding

Unfortunately, all weddings in the UK have been postponed due to the current worldwide covid-19 pandemic. This is truly a devastating time for a lot of couples who have been waiting for that special day and have now had to postpone. Currently the UK government is advising that weddings may be able to go ahead in July 2020. Couples have no choice but to either cancel or postpone until they are given the green light.

How should I postpone my wedding?
The majority of couples have decided to postpone until 2021 due to these unsettling times. However, you do not have to completely postpone to next year and could still have a very small ceremony this year under the new social distancing rules. If you are postponing you will need to let your venue and suppliers know ASAP. Contact your wedding insurance company to find out where you stand and make a plan to inform your guests, hopefully of a new wedding date!

Tips to help you decide the perfect wedding colour scheme

Picking the perfect colour palette for your wedding is a huge decision and not one you should take lightly. But how do you choose when so many colour schemes look amazing?

#Pinterest – you should take a look at all of those amazing photos you’ve saved or pinned and see if there seems to be a pattern. Are most of them a blush pink colour? If so, this is a huge indication of what colour palette you are aiming for.

#venue – use your venue for inspiration – if you are having an indoor wedding then most venues will already have a colour scheme in place – this could be a contributing factor as to why you fell in love with your venue.

#theme – the colour palette must fit your overall wedding theme – are you having a cosy barn wedding? Maybe a winter wedding? Fitting your colour palette with your theme can ensure you pick the perfect shade

Wedding invitation: Basic information to include

Inviting all of your guests to your wedding is a big step in planning your wedding, therefore choosing the correct information to put in your invite is very important. Whether you want the invitation to be traditional or creative is entirely up to you but all wedding invites should include basic information such as;

Who’s hosting the wedding – Traditionally the bride’s parents host the wedding, but you can name whomever is hosting. If it’s a joint affair hosted and paid for by the bride, groom and both sets of parents, you can also use “Together with their parents”, the request to attend the wedding e.g. “would love for you to join them. “honour of your presence”, the names of both the bride and groom, the time and date, the location – name of venue, reception information, dress code and the RSVP information – This is usually on a separate return card but in modern times most tend to put a contact number.

As long as you listen carefully to their thoughts, you’ll be absolutely fine, but ideally get their dresses sorted early so you’re not having a panic a few weeks from the wedding.
